Stereotactic radiosurgery: comparing different technologies.
Radiosurgery can be defined as 3-dimensional stereotactic irradiation of small intracranial targets by various radiation techniques. The goal is to deliver, with great accuracy, a large, single fraction dose to a small intracranial target, while minimizing the absorbed dose in the surrounding tissue. This article describes certain technical aspects of radiosurgery and compares the different met...
متن کاملChalcogenide glass microlenses by inkjet printing.
We demonstrate micrometer scale mid-IR lenses for integrated optics, using solution-based inkjet printing techniques and subsequent processing. Arsenic sulfide spherical microlenses with diameters of 10-350 μm and focal lengths of 10-700 μm have been fabricated. The baking conditions can be used to tune the precise focal length.
متن کاملOptimised Glass Rod Drawing Process for Gradient-Index Microlenses
Gradient-index (GRIN) microlenses (Fig. 1 inset) are important components for example in highresolution optical sensors, optical communication and in technical as well as in medical endoscopy [1, 2]. The ability of GRIN lenses to have plane optical surfaces offers great qualitative advantages in the mounting and miniaturisation of microoptical systems. Instead of the conventional spherical lens...
متن کاملOrganic light emitting devices with enhanced outcoupling via microlenses fabricated by imprint lithography
High efficiency white organic light emitting devices WOLEDs with optical outcoupling enhanced by hexagonal polymethylmethacrylate microlens arrays fabricated by imprint lithography on a glass substrate are demonstrated. Monte Carlo and finite difference time domain simulations of the emitted light are used to optimize the microlens design. The measured enhancement of light outcoupling and the a...
متن کاملMeasurement and modeling of microlenses fabricated on single-photon avalanche diode arrays for fill factor recovery.
Single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) imagers typically have a relatively low fill factor, i.e. a low proportion of the pixel's surface is light sensitive, due to in-pixel circuitry. We present a microlens array fabricated on a 128×128 single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) imager to enhance its sensitivity. The benefits and limitations of these light concentrators are studied for low light imagin...
